COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-Andrew College women's basketball head coach Courtney Pritchett has been selected as a court coach for the 2016 USA Basketball Women's U19 World Championship Team training camp, USA Basketball announced in August.
Pritchett was one of eight coaches selected as court coaches by the USA Basketball Women's Junior National Committee. Among the coach selected was former University South Carolina assistant Darius Taylor and several other Georgia girls basketball state championship winners. The camp was held on September 9-11, 2016 at the Suwannee sport facility.
One hundred and fifty young ladies displayed talent and work through drills and competition to receive an invitation to represent the United States in Asia in June of 2017.
"It means the world to me to be selected to USA Basketball. What a blessing. Pritchett said, "I am humbled and honored to have an opportunity to represent my country again after serving as a solider during Operation Iraqi Freedom. As a kid, we all dream of USA Basketball opportunities and I thank God that a piece of mine has come true. The next goal is to get the invitation to represent to country in Asia."
The 2017 FIBA U19 World Championship will be played In June in Asia and will be led by USA Basketball Hall of Fame coach Carol Callan. Coach Pritchett will receive more information about the selection after the second session in New York in October.
