GHC Chargers women's and men's basketball teams spent Friday assisting the Salvation Army with the Red Kettle Drive. The Campaign enables The Salvation Army to provide food, toys and clothing to over 6 million people during the Christmas season and helps more than 34 million Americans recovering from all kinds of personal disasters nationwide.
The bell ringing season starts each November and runs through Christmas Eve, when the red kettles are packed away for the season. Volunteers are the difference between an empty kettle and one that raises about $30 per hour – enough to provide a family with two bags of groceries, or shelter an individual for a night. Who can ring a bell? Anyone! The Chargers are making a difference in their community! Lady Chargers are all smiles after giving back with the Salvation Army.
