Highlanders Finish Third at World Series
June 3, 2012
Most schools who make their first trip to the NJCAA College
World Series are usually awestruck by the tremendous venue and
crowds larger than any games played in during their careers up
to this point. Those factors played no role in Gordon's run in
Grand Junction. Gordon finished in third place at the
10-team tournament and several players received some post
tournament accolades.
Bobby Woodall, Aaron Mizell, and Jody Stone were named to the 2012 All-Tournament team. Drew Adams received the Rawlings Big Stick Award which is given to the player with the highest tournament batting average. Coach Travis McClanahan was recognized with the tournament Sportsmanship Award.
Needless to say it was a great tournament for all those who made the trip from Gordon with memories that will last a lifetime.
