Cavs whip Wallace-Dothan in home opener
ALBANY - The Darton State College Cavaliers took down
Wallace-Dothan 13-2 in their home opener, Saturday, after slamming
Wallace-Dothan with 10 runs in the seventh inning.
Darton State easily handled Wallace-Dothan pitching as six hitters
combined for 18 hits, 11 RBIs and nine runs scored.
Sophomore Casey James racked up two RBI on two hits for Darton
State College Cavaliers. Brandon Sharpe was hot too, hitting a
double and a triple to net three RBI. Vetavious Jerger was on too,
Saturday, cracking four hits in five at-bats.
A.J. Sunstrom recorded the win for the Cavaliers. He allowed two
runs over six innings. He struck out four, walked none and
surrendered five hits.
The Cavaliers play again at home on Sunday, at 1 p.m., against
Southern Union.
