It took the juggling of schedules and the rain but Gordon and West Georgia Tech were finally able to get their four-game series complete. Gordon opened the series with a 10-3 victory on Wednesday. Gordon then took a doubleheader from West Georgia Tech on Easter Sunday, winning 13-3 in the first game and taking game two, 7-3.
In game two Gordon jumped out 6-0 scoring three runs in both the third and fourth innings for a second straight game. Gordon added another run in the sixth to go up 7-0. Then the Golden Knights answered with three runs in the bottom-half of the frame to make it a 7-3 game and close the scoring.
The Highlanders completed a sweep of the Knights with an 18 - 7 victory in game four in Douglasville. Gordon State jumped out to an early 5-0 lead after three innings. Gordon added two more runs in the fourth and put a four-spot on the board in the fifth to take a commanding 11-0 lead. West Georgia Tech answered with two in the sixth and four in the seventh, sandwiched around a Gordon State run in the top of the seventh, which made it a 12-6 game. The two teams traded runs in the eighth before Gordon added another five in the ninth to close out the scoring at 18-7.
The Highlanders scored 48 runs in the four-game series and improved their conference mark to 18 - 10 on the year.
