Darton Baseball helps community event for kids
ALBANY – As part of the program's well-known commitment to community service, Darton State College Baseball helped raise funds for children's programs at the Albany Museum of Art in Albany, Ga.
The Cavaliers provided manpower for the annual "Touch a Truck" event celebrated during the Museum's 50th anniversary.
"It's a community effort we do every year," Darton State College head baseball coach Scot Hemmings said. "It goes to a good cause."
Touch a Truck gives kids an opportunity to explore all types of vehicles, such as those of public service, emergency, utility, construction, transportation, delivery and some that are "just plain cool", said an official from the Albany Museum of Art. Kids get to climb aboard and ask questions about each vehicle.
