Tigers release 17' baseball schedule

The Andrew College baseball coaching staff releases the spring 2017 season schedule. The tigers will be playing thirty two of their fifty six games at home within the beautiful confines of Hord Athletic Complex. The team will open up the season on Saturday January 28th at home, which also correlates with Preview Day at Andrew College, so it should be a packed house for opening day.   On top of a tough twenty four game conference schedule the non-conference schedule is packed full of top teams to test the Tigers before they open up with the first conference game on March 14th at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. The addition of lights for the baseball and softball fields will bring a lot of excitement with some night games to Andrew College. Andrew College and Cuthbert, GA will be under the lights for the first time in school history on February 1st vs. Southern Union State Community College. Coach Williams stated, "The addition of lights is a game changer for our team and the Cuthbert community. The big thing is it will allow our student athletes to be able to stay in class longer and we can minimize their absences. I'm looking forward to playing under the lights this season."

The Tigers look to improve on last year's 2016 season that saw them win twenty one games, finish fourth in team batting average, and first in stolen bases in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association conference. Andrew College Baseball also will see two new assistant coaches in the dugout this year with Coach Zac Cole handling the pitching staff and working as the recruiting coordinator while Coach Michael Skelly will be working with the outfielders and coaching first base. Head Coach Blake Williams returns for his 6th season as Head Coach of the Tigers and during the 2016 season he picked up his 100th career win with Andrew College.
