Central GA Technical College Lady Cougars Kickoff The Basketball Season "Racing For The Cure"
MACON, GA – On Saturday, October 27, the CGTC Lady Cougars
Basketball Team volunteered at the Susan G. Komen "Race For The
Cure." The race took place at North Peach Park in Byron, GA and had
over 15,000 participants. The team spent the morning assisting with
registration and race preparation at both the start and finish
lines. Many CGTC faculty, staff, students, and alumni participated
in the walk and greatly appreciated the service of the Lady
Cougars.
The Race for The Cure event honors breast cancer survivors, brings
awareness about breast cancer, and raises money for the Susan G.
Komen for the Cure Foundation. Saturday's race helped raise over
$500,000 of which 85 cents of every dollar spent goes towards
treating and curing breast cancer. Come out and support the CGTC
Lady Cougars Basketball Team in their home opener Tuesday, November
13 at 5:30 PM at the Cougar Gymnasium (1931 Rocky Creek Rd.) as
they take on South Georgia Tech in a huge rivalry game. All kids
