Harris named CGTC Women's Head Basketball Coach

Macon – Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) and the CGTC Athletics Department have announced the appointment of Antonio Harris as the women's basketball head coach.

Harris joined CGTC Athletics in 2014 when he was named the cross country head coach and the men's basketball assistant coach. In his first year with the program, Harris led runners Danny Shaw and Eddie Stafford to first and third place finishes, respectively, in the inaugural CGTC Titans Invitational. Both runners earned Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) all-conference recognition and the opportunity to compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national competition.

In his first season as an assistant with the men's basketball program, Harris helped coach the team to an 18-12 overall record and 8-10 conference record.

A native of Macon, Harris attended Hampton University and Central Texas College. Coach Harris continues to reside in the area with his wife, Rhonda Harris, and their three children, Faren, Jaren, and Zaren.

"I'm very excited about having an opportunity to head the women's basketball program here at CGTC," stated Harris. "Being a product of the middle Georgia community has been promising for me. My goal is to continue to help these young women achieve their educational or career goals, as well as helping them become more positive, productive members of society and teaching them life skills that will be enhanced by their athletic ability."
