Lady Eagles take fourth straight national title, 5th overall

 

Peachtree, GA— This is what a dynasty looks like. Oxford Emory claimed the NJCAA DIII Women's Tennis Championship on Saturday to becoming the first team to capture four consecutive titles. In the process, Oxford Emory claimed its record breaking fifth overall NJCAA DIII championship by dominating the field. 

The Lady Eagles tallied a tournament-best 45 team points to win the title. The total points are the most for the Eagles in its four-year run. Suffolk County from totaled 26 points to finish second, followed by Rowan-Gloucester who recorded 21 points. 

Freshman Victoria Jones took home No. 1 singles for Oxford Emory, Cody Lu  captured No. 2 singles. Sophomore Ally Render took  the No. 3 singles title, Preethi Dharmavarapu claimed No. 4 singles, Joyce Min won No. 5 and June Woo finished the sweep taking the No. 6 singles. 

Oxford Emory captured all six singles flights for the third consecutive year. The Eagles also won all three doubles flights for the fourth-straight year as Jones and Lu teamed up to win No. 1 doubles. 

The five  DIII titles for the Eagles, breaks the previous record for most all-time previously held by Mercer County(NJ). The team standings and final scores are listed below.
