WGTC baseball team excepts ALS ice bucket challenge

CARROLLTON, Georgia – Like many already in the GCAA, the West Georgia Tech baseball team accepted the “ice bucket challenge” in an effort to raise awareness for ALS research over the weekend.

The latest fad to sweep the country, the ice bucket challenge has raised $62.5 million for ALS research as of last Saturday.

“ALS is a such a horrible disease, and I first-hand have seen it affect people that I’m close to,” said West Georgia Tech head baseball coach Todd Pratt. “To see the American people step up and contribute their time and money over the past few weeks has been wonderful. I’m glad that we were able to play a small part in bringing awareness to the cause. I personally have ”

The West Georgia Tech baseball, Gordon and Darton softball, as well as the GCAA Commissioner made a donation in addition to taking the challenge.

The Golden Knights have challenged fellow conference members Gordon State, Georgia Perimeter and Darton State to complete the ice bucket challenge.
