West Georgia Tech Knights top Bobcats of Georgia NW Tech
LAGRANGE, Ga. – The West Georgia Tech men’s basketball team defeated conference rival Georgia Northwestern Tech 80-64 Friday night in LaGrange.
The Golden Knights improved to 11-14 overall and 4-3 in the conference. Georgia Northwestern dropped to 7-17, 0-7.
The score was tied 38-all at the half, but the Golden Knights used a strong surge early in the second half to take control of the game.
Four players scored in double figures for West Georgia Tech, led by Ryan Jones and Randazzero Chaney with 18 points, each. Jones was an impressive 8-of-9 from the field.
Alyja Hennings scored 15 points and Victor Wynn added 13 for the Golden Knights.
Alex Miller led GNTC with 19 points.
West Georgia Tech had a plus-ten edge on the boards as they outrebounded the Bobcats 41-31.
The Golden Knights forced 22 Georgia Northwestern turnovers while committing only 12.
