Barnesville, GA- South Georgia State secured home field advantage for the post season with a Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association win over conference rival Gordon State 1-0 in Barnesville.
For the second time in ten days, the two sides battled for the ninety minutes of regulation to a scoreless draw, thus sending both teams into overtime again. In game one both teams played to a double overtime 0-0 draw.
The Hawks broke the deadlock in the 13th minute of overtime in game two with a shot from just outside of the penalty area.
With the win, the Hawks GCAA record move to 5-0-1 while they have an overall record of 7-1-1. SGSC will hit the road for a conference matchup at ABAC in Tifton and then host GMC on October 8th.
