Snow College, the 8th ranked team came to Milledgeville on Saturday to take on the #18 Georgia Military College Bulldogs. Both teams were coming off dominating wins the week prior and were looking to make an early season statement. GMC made the statement on the day however as they came from an early deficit and pulled away for a 47-30 win on Davenport Field.
GMC took the initial lead on a 77 yard touchdown pass from Clay Chastain to Mario Alford, but Snow came back strong the next drive to tie the game. Snow added to the lead in the second quarter with another TD pass as they pulled ahead to a 23-7 lead. The Bulldogs however, would not be denied as Mario Alford shorted the lead on a 35 yd TD run and the on the next possession, Clay Chastain found Montez McGuire for an 8yd TD pass. GMC took the momentum into the half, trailing 23-20.
The second half started poorly for GMC, with a couple of miscues on the first drive forcing a punt from inside their own 10yd line. A blocked punt by Snow resulted in a TD and pushed Snow ahead 30-20 midway in the third quarter. It was all GMC from there however, as GMC ran off three scoring drives and returned a fumble for a fourth TD. GMC ended the game as the victor with a 47-30 win over visiting Snow College.
